Your monthly fee might be higher for one month if you have changed your subscription type (from the Base Plan to the Personal Number Plan) during that month. This is because we charge you prorated, which means you only pay for the plan you use.
When you change your subscription type, your plan switches on the same day, not at the end of the month. This way, you can access the new plan features right away. However, this also means that you have to pay the difference between the old and new plan prices for the rest of that month.
For example:
1. You sign up for the Base Plan ($14.99/mo) on January 1st.
2. You upgrade to the Personal Number Plan ($19.99/mo) on January 8th.
3. You don't pay anything extra on January 8th, but at the end of January, you pay $27.56 instead of $19.99.
4. This is because you pay $5.33 for using the Base Plan for 7 days, $18.15 for using the Personal Number Plan for 24 days, and $4.08 for the price difference between the two plans for 24 days.
5. For the next months, you pay $19.99 every month for the Personal Number Plan.
The formula we use to calculate your prorated fee is:
Prorated Fee = (Old Plan Price / Days in Month * Days Used) + (New Plan Price / Days in Month * Days Used) + (New Plan Price - Old Plan Price) * (Days Used / Days in Month)
We hope this clarifies why your monthly fee is higher for one month when you change your subscription type. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact support.
